 Jack had been working ever since he and Janet had rolled into camp earlier that evening. Who had unloaded all the gear from the car?  Him! Who had put up the tent? Him! Who had strung up the lanterns, paid the Park Ranger, set the picnic table for supper and untangled the mosquito netting?  Him!  All this while Janet sat on a flat rock reading her steamy romance book.

Humph!  Little good that did him, Jack decided amidst his animosity. Janet was as cold in bed as a snowmonster, and her feet weren't much prettier.

Well enough was enough! He hadn't even been intent on camping this weekend. It was just Janet's way of keeping him from enjoying the fishing trip that he had wanted to attend with his close buddies.

He glanced at Janet's smug looking, lazy form asking himself why in the heck had he passed up light beer and fish for that?

"Janet, could you go gather some wood?  Would that be too much trouble, dear?"

"Hum?" she eased out, obviously lost in the loveless pages of her steamy romance.

"Forget it!" Jack grumbled, heading off to gather some dead wood.  Of course, there was already a large chunk of dead wood at the camp...resting on a flat rock...reading a useless romance novel that she had no intention of making use of...
