FANNY PACK Zen toyed with the pedometer that he was using for hiking purposes, then carefully placed it into his fanny pack. It had been a gift from his late grandfather, who had claimed that it held magical powers. Zen had to admit that it felt a bit warm to the touch, and he liked to think of that as his grandfather touching down from above, connecting his spirit with Zen's spirit - the small power of Zen if you will.
That very night as Zen set up camp in the deep woods, an unexpected visitor appeared from the sky. Needless to say, Zen was a bit wiped out from the experience, and even more so when the stranger demanded Zen's fanny pouch, more pointedly Zen's warm object that lay therein. "Your grandfather stole the key to the Great City of Quanton, and I, Gomer Withpiles, have come to reclaim what is rightfully the Quanton's!" Being the bright boy that Zen was, he quickly switched the pedometer for a tin of gum which matched the pedometer in size, and in color. Obviously, the stranger had poor eyesite, for he snatched the tin from Zen's hand and sped off into the dark night as quickly as he had arrived. Zen wisely packed up camp and headed to the nearest scientific facility where he was granted a new identity and his pedometer given safe-keeping due to the importance of the object.
As for Gomer Withpiles, upon his return to the Great City of Quanton, he rammed the tin into the Royal Keyhole, causing a complete blackout. Upon which, he was ousted from the city and never to be heard from again. All's well that ends well, I suppose....except if you're Gomer Withpiles..."
