Before setting up your tent, carefully inspect the ground. Remove any rough objects such as sticks or rocks. Even small pebbles can cut into your tent base and make your sleep a living nightmare, so remove anything suspicious. Next, place your 'liner' on the bare ground. Your tent will go up next.

Be sure and anchor it well, even if there are no winds. You just never know when the winds will kick up, so you'll want to be prepared. Better safe than sorry.

Air mattresses can be very comfy and take very little time to inflate via use of a mini-air pump. About 200 pumps generally fills up a queen-sized mattress. Sleeping bags can be placed on top of the air mattress for added comfort. Don't forget your pillow - the one that you sleep on every night at home.

If the night is cold, take along a knit hat for your head and a pair of wool socks for your feet. And don't forget that comfy pillow!
